This year was my first time hosting Thanksgiving and I was so excited for it! While I couldn’t get my ish together in time to post before the holiday I wanted to put this out into the world anyways because who doesn’t like looking at pretty table decor? I would also keep my table decorated like this even not around Thanksgiving and just remove the pumpkins!
Mike’s Mom and Grandma came to visit for the holiday and it was just us four. A VERY good number to have for my first time hosting because I didn’t have to make a ton of food. I have a new obsession with eucalyptus (I think I’m late to the party on this one) and knew I wanted to include that in the decor. And white pumpkins too, duh. I had ordered the cutest gold pineapple napking rings from Ballard Designs but they didn’t arrive in time 🙁 So instead I put a simple knot in the napkins which turned out prettier than I had imagined! (Napkins are Anthropologie)
The candlestick holders are from our wedding registry and I just love them (Restoration Hardware). The small votives were a good TJ Maxx find and I thought the blush and white was a pretty combo. Table runner is white with gold specks, found a Target. And ah yes, the gold flatware. I’ve had my eye on a few different brands for a while and decided on these from CB2, zero regrets!
Our menu consisted of an organic turkey breast (with just 4 people we really didn’t feel the need to cook a whole one!), gluten free stuffing, brown butter herb skillet potatoes (recipe from PaleOMG), roasted brussels sprouts with shallot and apple slices, homemade cranberry sauce (recipe from Wellness Mama), a big salad, gluten free/dairy free gravy, Mike’s Grandma made sweet potato casserole and I finished it off with a gluten free/ dairy free pumpkin pie. I must say I totally understand why people have double ovens now and I was very pleased when everything turned out yummy!
I am partial to pretty table decor though, so here’s a few more pics!
