You’ll often hear me say to eat real food, aka not packaged/ processed. But let’s be honest, sometimes a girl just needs a cookie or some pizza, right? It’s fine to indulge every now and then! I’ve got a few go-to gluten free goodies that will hit that sweet or salty craving without a stomach ache and bloated feeling afterward. Here are my tried and true faves:
Simple Mills is an awesome brand because they use simple ingredients! I hate looking at a super long list of ingredients and not even being able to pronounce some of them. These cookies are so delicious, sometimes I add in chopped walnuts. Also, their muffin mixes are yummy too!
I thought my bagel days were over, and being from New York that is sad. I’ve tried many other brands and they just weren’t worth the carb load to me. Then one day roaming around Publix here in Charleston we found these. I’m in love, and Mike is too (he doesn’t even have to eat gluten free). I have a half of a bagel with mashed avocado a few times a week alongside my eggs and broccoli. These are a MUST try. We get Canyon Bakehouse bread too, it’s the best gluten free bread out there in my opinion!
Gluten free pizza isn’t too hard to find. Of course, it will never be the same as a nice gluten-filled slice, but those days are long gone for me. Cappello’s is one of my favorites and they have great pasta and cookies too. I am 99% dairy free too (bummer) but I splurge on pizza because it’s that good. The dairy free kinds aren’t worth it to me, so I’ll take a little upset stomach for a Friday pizza night.
These coconut aminos are a staple in our house. I use this to replace soy sauce so you’ll find me dipping my sushi into a little dish of this. I’ll also use coconut aminos in chicken and steak marinades and for a stir fry dish. Super tasty and much healthier than soy sauce or tamari!
This is one of the only dairy-free alternatives that I actually like. Daiya gluten free/ dairy free mac and cheese tastes like the real thing, I swear! I probably only splurge with this one a few times a year but it’s really good, I have to stop myself from eating the entire box!
I know this blog title calls for 5 of my favorites, but I just have to add these. Enjoy Life is very allergy-friendly. Their products are free from wheat, dairy, soy, egg, tree nuts, peanuts and more. These chocolate chips are the bomb. I’m actually getting angry that I didn’t buy a bag while food shopping this morning because now I’m craving them. Self control Cait, self control. Anyway, Enjoy Life has a bunch of great products but the mini chips will always have my heart <3
Ok, your turn! I’m always looking for new gluten free foods to try. Comment below with your favorites!
