Mike and I have been working a lot on personal development lately. From reading a bunch to joining a mentorship and listening to podcasts, we are learning from those we admire at least once per day. One common theme I’m noticing amongst our mentors is that how you start your day is a pretty good indication of how your day will go. These powerful, influential, successful and thoughtful people have morning routines that are more thought out and intentional than my entire day. They swear by these morning habits which increase happiness and productivity. Who doesn’t want more of that?
I’m just gonna go ahead and say that I haven’t quite figured out my morning routine yet. I’m still playing around with what feels right and works for me. Once I’ve got it down pat and am practicing my routine consistently I will post it for y’all. In the meantime I wanted to tell you what the people we admire most do in hopes that it’ll peak your interest and maybe get you practicing some of these (if you aren’t already)!
-
Wake up 30-60 minutes earlier than you currently do
-
Drink a glass of water
-
No phone/ checking social media or email for the first hour of your day
-
Journal/ morning mantra – Either write or speak your thoughts, goals, dreams and what you’re grateful for
-
Meditate – This can be 5 minutes or 50, just a time where you are able to focus inward, be present and avoid distraction
-
Read – Something that inspires you, makes you better and happy. A minimum of 10 pages.
-
Workout – Whether it’s high intensity or a walk around the block, get your body moving at the start of your day!
